Let’s talk about stress. Because holy moly, I am beyond overwhelmed!
I never saw myself becoming a business woman. I’ve always loved helping people, hence why I went into nursing. However, I found myself pushing pills (which do have their place!) more than actually helping people change their lives.
Enter: Health Coaching.
And I really do love it. I love connecting with people, learning their stories, and helping them improve their lives. It’s such a blessing to be a part of. However, in order to make this my career, I have to tap into my inner business woman… and she is buried WAY down deep!
So here I am, trying to build a website, keep up with this blog, what kind of things do I talk about on this blog, pick a scheduling system, get business cards, figure out some of the legal mumbo-jumbo, create videos, figure out my pricing, create groups and Facebook pages, manage the appointments I already have… and I am STRESSED!
So for those of you who are feeling maxed out too, here are 3 tips to help us get through this together:
- Make a schedule. If you’re like me and your to-do list is about a mile long, first, list everything out. Dump your brain. Then, schedule “time blocks” during your week where you can attack one item at a time. For example: today, I finally typed up my About Me page.
- Eat right & exercise. I know I know, but after all, I am a health coach. When you’re stressed, make sure you’re eating regular meals and snacks of whole foods, and drink lots of water. Get your exercise in, too, and make that a priority! For me, a lot of work is done on the computer, so I could easily sit for hours at a time, so it’s super important to incorporate movement into my day.
- Breathe. Yes, breathe. Close your eyes. Take a long, sloooow, deep breath. Hold it. And let it go even more slowly. Do it 10 more times. I promise, it will clear your head and make you even more productive.
